Dance Yrself Clean’s Top 8 Eargasm Jams Of The Week…(12/23/11)

This week more than ever seemed to encompass what I adore most about the music world.  I mean I love when the big HYPED up the wazoo artists I love debut new jams!  I’ll never complain about anything Lana Del Rey (seriously let’s get 1/14/11’s episode of SNL in front of us like now) or The Weeknd (Echoes Of Silence!!!!!!!) related.  Lizzy Grant and Abel Tesfaye have to be within the top 5 most talked about cool kid music-y people in 2011 (mixed in with Justin Vernon, Annie Clark, and Florence Welch) and I’ll always be glad to share their music with the world.  Btw have I mentioned I need to hear all of Born To Die in its glorious entirety lately?  

But what I also love about the music scene is BANDCAMP and how pretty much any one can use it as a platform to showcase their talent!  One of my greatest joys is to just take a genre and scout out new artists over there!  Sure I’m prone to getting lost in the Dream Pop, Shoegaze, Chillwave and Lo-Fi pages but I’ll dabble in anything really.  And this is leading me to say…that…I can’t thank Bruce Warren (if you are not following Some Velvet Blog what are you waiting for), who is definitely one of my idols for even thinking to mention me in his oh so excellent must read post over at NPR entitled Who Needs A Record Label?  The 5 Best Bandcamp Albums Of 2011!?  I’m touched and honored like no other. Okay I’m getting very sentimental folks but I can’t help it.  This just is and was a huge I can’t believe this just happened moment in Dance Yrself Clean Tumblr history.
